Why We Built MotifDraft

A pixel preview is only the beginning. A useful chart also needs understandable units, a manageable palette, clear directions and a printout with a readable key. The five workspaces share editing tools while keeping their craft rules explicit.

Local processing lets you try an image without uploading it. Automatic browser drafts help you return to a session, and downloadable projects keep an editable copy under your control.

What Our Tools Support

All five include local image preparation, cell editing, selection tools, canvas resizing, row progress and exports. DMC and Perler catalogs are community references with source notices; yarn palettes are custom references. Screen colors need a physical check.

How We Test Our Charts

Automated checks cover image transparency, color limits, project validation, fills, counts, dimensions and page coverage. Browser checks exercise editing, saving and reopening, mobile layouts and printing. Exported PDFs are inspected for readable text and clipping.

Physical craft samples have not yet been validated. We do not claim that the charts are craft-tested. A screen check or generated illustration cannot replace stitching, crocheting or assembling a small sample.

How We Present Examples

A beginner-friendly pine cottage: 32 × 32 cells, four colors and 382 full crosses, with large connected areas and no isolated stitches. Open the editable chart or download its actual PDF.

Source photos, digital chart previews, illustrative results and photographs of physical work have different purposes. We identify them explicitly instead of presenting a simulation as a finished handmade piece.

What We’re Still Improving

We continue to improve photo examples and validate physical samples. Cloud and paid-feature availability is shown in the workspace and pricing page. Complete garment or toy construction instructions are not provided.

Production providers and data regions

Cloudflare Workers and D1 host the service. Google sign-in, Resend email, Waffo payments and Google Analytics are used only when enabled. Providers may process data outside China; no China-only storage region is configured.

Server retention and deletion periods

Local drafts remain until you or your browser remove them. Accepted account deletion revokes sessions immediately; batch deletion starts after a 7-day waiting period. Sent or resolved failed support notifications are cleaned after 30 days; closed tickets and audit logs after 365 days. Billing records and a minimal account reference remain; they have no automatic expiry. Contact support for a retention or deletion review.
